The annoying Thunderbird

Thunderbird has mostly been behaving well for me, but recently it has really been pissing me off. Like, I use it and all is fine, but out of the blue, I get this dialog.

What the hell is this supposed to mean and what am I supposed to do about it? It does not respond to my clicks, so the only way out from here is to force kill and restart the whole app. Not very productive.
